Terms made clear

Handling, volume, tare and compatibility terms explained to help select a container.

Abroll / hooklift
A hook-based handling system with an interchangeable body. Verify the interface for the vehicle.
Skip / Absetz
A body handled through arms and chains with specific lifting and tipping points.
City
A compact hooklift family; the name alone does not establish interchangeability.
Nominal volume
A commercial volume class. It is not a load rating and may be rounded.
Tare
The empty container weight; it affects the payload available for the material.
Subframe
The base supporting equipment or a body and connecting it to the vehicle system.
Cover and sealing
A cover protects access or material; liquid retention requires separately confirmed construction.
Hook height
A lifting-interface dimension. It cannot be inferred solely from container volume.
