STEEL CONTAINERS · EDMAROM
Steel Abroll hooklift containers, 5–40 m³
Choose an Abroll container around the vehicle and its lifting system. EDMAROM manufactures 5–40 m³ containers in Romania, with a 1570 mm hook (DIN 30722-1) or 1425 mm hook (NF R17-108 class 2), 3, 4 or 5 mm plate and Hardox on request. We recommend 10–15 m³ with low sides for rubble and 30–40 m³ for light waste.

Suitable applications / When to choose another solution
Suitable for
- Waste collection operators with hooklift trucks.
- Construction and demolition: rubble, concrete and mixed site waste.
- Recyclers and collection centres: cardboard, plastic, wood, metals and separated waste streams.
- Industrial sites with stationary compactors or regular waste flows.
- Fleets exchanging full and empty containers with the same truck.
Choose another solution for
- Chain-and-arm vehicles (Skip / Absetz): choose Skip containers.
- Light commercial vehicles, light trucks or narrow streets: choose City containers.
- Machinery or pallet transport: choose Abroll platforms.
- Liquids, sludge or hazardous waste require the suitability, sealing and any applicable ADR requirements to be established for the project.

Decisions and why they matter
| Decision | Why it matters | What happens without it |
|---|---|---|
| Hook matched to the truck — 1570 mm for DIN 30722-1, 1425 mm for NF | Hook, rails and locks must match the lifting system. Send its make and model so the interface can be designed to its dimensions. | An unsuitable interface can compromise coupling and securing of the container. |
| Plate and floor matched to the material — 3, 4 or 5 mm, double reinforcement, Hardox in impact areas | Rubble, concrete and scrap metal place greater wear demands on the floor and walls than cardboard or plastic. | An unsuitable floor may wear or deform under the load. |
| Twin doors or a single door with gasket | Twin doors provide a wide opening for bulky material. In the documented variants, a gasket is fitted to a single door with a clamping system. | Doors, pins and hinges can deform under unsuitable loads, making closure and emptying difficult. |
| Door chain or retention system | The open door must remain secured during emptying, according to the operating procedure. | An unsecured door can swing unexpectedly during emptying. |
| Tarpaulin, lid or mesh | A tarpaulin helps contain the load; lids protect paper and cardboard from rain; mesh sides provide volume for light waste. A cover alone does not make a container liquid-tight. | Uncovered light material can escape during transport. |
| Empty weight and available payload | Thickness and reinforcement follow project loads; extra steel also increases empty weight. Available load is determined for the complete vehicle, lifting equipment, container and other carried masses. | Excessive empty weight reduces the payload available per trip. |
| Internal and external corrosion protection | Containers stand outdoors and may hold damp residues. | Untreated corrosion can reduce structural strength. |
| Identification plate | The plate identifies the manufacturer, year, serial number and container data; check legibility during inspections. | Missing identification makes maintenance and traceability more difficult. |

Recommendations by material
| Material | Recommended volume | Recommended configuration |
|---|---|---|
| Concrete, brick, soil, clean rubble | 10–15 m³, low sides | 5 mm plate, double-reinforced floor, optional Hardox floor and twin doors |
| Mixed construction and demolition waste | 20–30 m³ | 5 mm floor, reinforced walls, twin doors and tarpaulin hooks |
| Heavy scrap metal | 10–20 m³ | Hardox floor and walls; double-reinforced floor |
| Wood, cardboard, plastic, bulky waste | 30–40 m³ | 4–5 mm floor, 3 mm walls, twin doors and tarpaulin or lids |
| Paper and cardboard stored outdoors | 30–40 m³ | Fixed lid or movable lids for rain protection |
| Separate waste collection | 20–25 m³, compartmented | Compartments with individual doors, as in the 23 m³ example |
| Stationary compactor | Matched to the compactor | Enclosed container with a compactor coupling opening |
| Liquids, sludge, wet waste | According to the material | Single tipping door with gasket and clamping; suitability and sealing established for the project |
| Hazardous waste | According to the applicable ADR class | ADR certification is available on request for the ordered configuration. |

Frequently asked questions
What hook height does an Abroll container use?
We manufacture with a 1570 mm hook to DIN 30722-1 or 1425 mm to NF R17-108 class 2. Smaller vehicles and City systems use different dimensions: see City containers.
Which volume should I choose for rubble?
For concrete, brick or soil, the indicative choice is 10–15 m³ with low sides. Heavy material may reach a mass limit before the container is full; check the vehicle and material. The 30–40 m³ range suits light, bulky waste.
Which plate thickness do you recommend?
A 5 mm floor for rubble, demolition waste and scrap, with Hardox in bucket or grab impact zones. For cardboard, plastic and wood, a 4 mm floor and 3 mm walls help control empty weight.
Will the container fit my truck?
Yes. Send the hooklift make and model, hook height and maximum accepted length. We design the hook, rails and locks to those dimensions and confirm them on a drawing before manufacture.
Twin doors or a door with gasket?
Twin doors suit rubble, bulky waste and rapid unloading. For wet waste, assess a single tipping door with gasket and clamping. The documented twin-door variant has no gasket; any sealing requirement needs a separate project check.
Do you make containers for hazardous waste or liquids?
ADR certification is available on request for the ordered configuration. For liquids and sludge, a sealed door and clamping system are specified in the project.
How much does an empty Abroll container weigh?
With a 4 mm floor and 3 mm walls: approximately 1725 kg at 10 m³, 2115 kg at 20 m³ and 2725 kg at 36 m³. Thicker steel, Hardox, lids and sealed doors add weight. The exact value is stated on the technical drawing.
How much does an Abroll container cost?
Price depends on volume, plate, doors, cover and quantity. For an accurate quotation, request an Abroll quotation or start with the indicative 3D configurator.
What are the production time and warranty?
Typical production takes 1–2 weeks, depending on configuration and quantity, with a 12-month standard warranty. We deliver in Europe.
Do you rent containers or sell used ones?
No. We manufacture and sell only new, made-to-order containers. We also participate in public tenders, supplying the technical sheet and drawing requested in the specification.
